Healthy Crackers

I made these healthy crackers. Just a few simple steps, and you have homemade, gluten-free crackers loaded with healthy fats, fibre, plant-based protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Enjoy them with your favourite dip, cheese, or on their own. Give them a try!

Ingredients

Makes 35-40 crackers

  • 1 cup sprouted pumpkin seeds

  • 1/2 cup sunflower seeds

  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds

  • 1/3 cup hemp hearts

  • 1 cup milled flaxseed

  • 1 tbsp chia seeds

  • 1 tbsp dried minced onion

  • 1 tsp herbed sea salt (I use Herbamare from A.Vogel brand, you may also use regular salt)

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne powder

  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water

  • a sprinkle of organic everything bagel seasoning (optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 325ºF.

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Combine all the ingredients except the water and everything bagel seasoning in a bowl and mix well.

Pour in the boiling water and mix to combine.

Spread the mixture evenly onto the baking sheet, ensuring it's spread as thin as possible. This will give you a crispy cracker.

Sprinkle with everything bagel seasoning, and bake for approximately 50-60 minutes or until crispy and golden in colour.

Allow to cool, then break into desired pieces.

ENJOY!
